Day 31 was a Sea Day - an always appreciated day of rest.

Day 32 - I was excited about seeing Malta, because I had seen pictures from my parents from when they went to Malta. I always told myself that I wanted to go there because it looked so cool.

We had a ship tour in the morning to a fishing village, and to the 3 cities of Malta. In the afternoon, we wanted to take a bus to Mdina (or Medina - I've seen it both ways), which is a walking city where they filmed part of the Game of Thrones.

First up, the fishing village. The boats were so colorful, and the weather was beautiful. It was a great place to take pictures, and try the fig pastry from the guy in the photo below.

Our next stop was the 3 cities, which are all within walking distance of each other. You just cross the river on a bridge to get from one to the other.

To get to the third city, we went through a knights castle to this cute town with great alleyways. I couldn't help myself, but to take pictures. Sorry if there are too many...

We (only a few to a boat, so our friends Lauren and Bob joined) then took a boat ride in the canal and into the port where we went far enough to ride next to our ship on the other side. One of the forts you could see from the water was used in the Game of Thrones (for you GOT fans - the one with all 4 of us with the fort in the background).

After our ship tour, as I mentioned, we took a bus to Medina. There are many scenes from the Game of Thrones shot here. It was such a cute little town. Only locals are allowed to drive there. I loved it!

We had lunch at a cute little restaurant, with local cuisine, and wine. All delicious!

Took a taxi back to the ship, after a wonderful day in Malta!

Tomorrow is Messina and Taormina, Sicily...
